Massive Sinkhole Swallows Building, House in Guatemala
Tropical Storm Agatha ravaged parts of Guatemala yesterday, leaving a wake of destruction in her path. While the flooding was a sight to behold, Agatha’s true legacy is defined by the massive sinkhole pictured after the jump, which literally engulfed a three-story building and a residential house. This isn’t the first sinkhole that has devastated Guatemala (a smaller one killed three people in 2007), but the 330-foot chasm in the Earth is yet another freak weather catastrophe that makes us rethink booking next year’s Spring Break in the Caribbean. Hello South Beach.
