VIDEO: Free Drake Concert Doesn’t Happen, Erupts into a Small Riot

by 9 years ago

Yesterday Drake hit New York City for the official debut of his first album, “Thank Me Later.” Although the Canadian rapper had fangirls all misty eyed in Union Square, things didn’t get out of hand until an audience of over 25,000 people gathered at New York’s South Street Seaport for a free concert with Hanson (yes, the Hanson of “Mmmbop” fame) that never happened. The audience was much larger than expected, prompting the NYPD to shut down the concert and disperse the crowd. Of course, this pissed off a lot of concertgoers, who reacted by throwing fists, bottles, and chairs. COED Magazine has a pretty good collection of pictures from the so-called “riot scenerio.” We’ve tracked down four videos of the mayhem. Check them out after the jump.
