The People of Haiti Still Need Your Help…

by 8 years ago

It’s now been more than a week since a 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, and with more than several hundred thousand believed dead, the rescue/recovery/survival efforts continue. Volunteers from around the world are down there, trying to save as many lives as possible. In the video up above, a crew from the L.A. County USAR (urban search and rescue) pulls out a woman from the rubble after hours of work. The crowd starts chanting “USA, USA!”

The efforts need your donations now more than ever, and we’d like to encourage you to donate to one of these organizations, or one of your own choosing:

  • Donate $10 to the Red Cross by texting HAITI to 90999 or go to Red Cross
  • Donate to Partners in Health
  • Donate to Unicef
  • Donate to The International Rescue Committee
  • Donate to Wyclef Jean’s Yele organization

After the jump, by the way, is an interesting video about CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who was reporting all day at a hospital when all the doctors and nurses suddenly left for the night, over security concerns. Gupta and his crew stayed the night to take care of the patients…
