TV Anchors Forced To Issue Apology After Showing This Clip Of A Naked Waitress Walking Around
You’d think that when filming a news segment at a nude dining event you’d be extra careful not to pan away to anyone who was actually, y’know – dining nude. But then again what do I know? These people are professionals. They know what they’re doing, and yet somehow no one thought to themselves “Hm, maybe we shouldn’t make this a live broadcast just in case some boobies slip through the cracks.”
Apparently that never crossed anyone’s mind. According to Metro:
After the embarrassment of the full-frontal moment had passed, the presenter admitted: ‘I keep looking one direction, glancing something, look away, cop an eyeful of something else.’
Back at the studio, the anchors of New Zealand current affairs show Story, were forced to apologise to viewers who saw something they ‘maybe something [they] didn’t want to see’.
‘If you saw last night’s show we’d like to say we’re very sorry the shot in the broadcast from the Hamilton cafe revealed more than we intended,’ said Duncan Garner, as Heather du Plessis-Allan pulled an absurdly guilty face.
We can show murder and sex on television, but not a naked body without any sexual connotation attached to it.
This is the world we live in.
