Botswana’s President Disses Fatties, Refuses to Marry an Overweight Bride
“To drive the point home he pointed to the Assistant Minister of Local Government Botlhogile Tshreletso and said, “I don't want one like this one. She may fail to pass through the door, breaking furniture with her heavy weight and even break the vehicle's shock absorbers.”
The crowd, including the minister who had been singled out, reportedly laughed at the president's comments.”
That's right. Like a total boss, he called someone on his own staff “fat.” In America, he'd be impeached. In the corporate world, he'd be fired or — at the very least — have to take some sort of insensitivity training. As far as we can tell, he wasn't remorseful about it either. Of course, critics in Botswana are up in arms about him saying it in public, but you can't blame the guy for having discriminating tastes. A man has to have standards. If I lived in Botswana, I wouldn't want to marry someone large enough to break the shock absorbers on my imported Land Cruiser and damage my furniture made of albino elephant tusks either.
