As a big Hunter S. Thompson fan, the drive from Los Angeles to Las Vegas is one of my favorite things in the world. Once you get on the 15 around Rancho Cucamonga, it’s an easy haul to Barstow, home of the best road house steakhouse on planet earth, Idle Spurs. From there it’s a straight shot through the desert until the mighty casino towers of Vegas rise like a phoenix out from the highway.
Since there are a 100+ miles of barren nothingness, I-15 is an easy highway to drive fast on without knowing you’re well over the speed limit. Law enforcement agencies in Nevada and California both know that, so they regularly nab speeders for the easy ticket. This guy was recently driving I-15 from LA to Vegas and caught the mother-of-all speed traps, with at least eight cars pulled over at the same time. Honestly, it’s probably more but I stopped counting at eight.
That said, I don’t know why this driver didn’t get over into the left lane. People get pulled over for that all the time and I’m surprised he wasn’t targeted for it.
