In January, the iconic Playboy Mansion went up for sale with a $200 million price tag. In June, 32-year-old Daren Metropoulos, heir to the PBR fortune, purchased the esteemed estate for $110 million. Besides the mansion, he received six acres and the 90-year-old Hugh Hefner. You see, there was a stipulation in the contract that whoever bought the Playboy Mansion also received Hefner, who was allowed to live out his finals days at his abode where he has resided since 1974.
Metropoulos, who will inherit the Pabst Blue Ribbon fortune of $2.8 billion and rebranded companies such as Ghirardelli Chocolate, Twinkies, and Bumble Bee Tuna, wanted to tear down some of the mansion and add on to the structure. However, that didn’t fly with Hef. TMZ is reporting that the deal to buy the manor has fallen through.
