See The CRAZY Difference Between A Fast Car, A Really Fast Car, And A Stupid Fast Car
This video is from 2013, but it has gone viral this week after appearing on Reddit Videos and several popular Facebook pages. Despite being four years old it is still pretty eye-opening and shows the difference between a fast car, a really fast car, and stupid fast car.
F1 driver David Coulthard was behind the wheel of the furiously fast Red Bull Racing RB7 F1 car and he went up against Casey Stoner (Hehe “Stoner”) driving his Australian Holden V8 Supercar, and Mick Doohan manning a factory-spec Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG.
Now the $146,695 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG is nothing to sneer at since it is powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V-8 that produces 530 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. However, compared to these two beasts it performs like it was your beat up 1994 Geo Storm.
The race was staggered using a handicap system based on each car/driver’s lap times (from the previous day), so despite its appearance, the drivers had to drive their stints flat-out in order to cross the line in their predicted order.
Formula One vehicles typically boast 3.0-liter V10 engines that produce 1,000 hp, plus they have fighter jet aerodynamics. BTW, F1 cars are way, way faster and more efficient now than back in 2013.
It’s rather mind-blowing on how much faster an F1 rocket is compared to the other automobiles.
