24-Year-Old High School Teacher Arrested For Having Alleged ‘Improper’ Relationship With A Student
24-year-old Montana Joan Davis, a business information technology teacher at Mexia high school in Central Texas, was arrested at approximately 7:30 a.m. after being accused of having an improper relationship with a student. According to LMTonline, Davis was arrested as “part of a joint investigation” between the Mexia Police Department, the Mexia ISD Police Department as well as the Lacy Lakeview Police Department:
Court documents detailing Davis’ alleged activity leading to the second-degree felony charge were not immediately available on Monday.
News station KXXV reported that Mexia Independent School District placed Davis on administrative leave after learning of the allegations on Feb. 9.
The Lacy Lakeview Police Department is investigating whether Davis had other alleged victims, according to the news station.(via)
Mexia ISD Superintendent Sharon Ross reportedly told KXXV that “We want our community and parents to know this is serious and we’re handling it in that manner and allowing the proper authorities to do their job.”
Davis could reportedly face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
