This Is What Watching Porn Does To Your Brain

If you believe women when they say some variation of “most men think with their dick,” then I reckon that porn makes my brain cum something fierce. End of story. Post over.

In all seriousness (or at least as serious as I can take this), porn is apparently making men shit lovers. As luck would have it, too much of a good thing is too much of a good thing. Or at least that is what a a study published in JAMA Psychiatry in 2014 is saying.

According to the Daily Mail:

Both having sex and watching porn causes dopamine, the neurotransmitter responsible for reward and pleasure, to be released.

But repeatedly causing this surge in dopamine – by regularly watching pornography – means the brain become desensitised to its effects.

A study published in JAMA Psychiatry in 2014 found regularly viewing pornography seemed to dull the response to sexual stimulation over time.

This means the brain needs more dopamine in order to feel the same ‘high’, which causes a person to watch more porn, German researchers found.

Pornography is creating a generation of young men who are hopeless in the bedroom, the report concluded.

Not only that, but the study has found that a porn addict’s mind is not too dissimilar from that of a drug addict.

“When porn addicts watch X-rated material, the ‘addiction’ part of the brain lights up on scans, Cambridge University researchers discovered in 2013. The brains of young men who are obsessed by online pornography ‘lit up like Christmas trees’ upon being shown erotic images, a pioneering study has found.”

I mean, obviously. When you are addicted to anything — porn, drugs, the smell of your own asshole — you can’t control the urge to indulge in it. That is basically how addiction works. Lucky for me, I can stop watching porn whenever I want to. I just don’t want to stop yet.
