As bad as Duke has been this season, I can’t lie to you; I would be more surprised if Duke lost this game than if they won March Madness. Louisville is, simply put, not a good basketball team this season. I mean, Louisville this season has lost to every half-decent squad, so do yourself a favor and just avoid them.
In my analysis of blogs, I usually like to start off with a paragraph, at least trying to defend the team who is more likely to lose. I highlight a star player or compliment the team on a facet of the game they seem to excel at. I am very upset to report that Louisville has nothing. They have four wins out of the 27 games they have played. I don’t really have the basketball acumen to defend that. They do have El Ellis I will at least says, who has been trying his best to hoop on a team that is just not good. He’s averaging 18 points per game and leading the team in assists and steals. If you want to call that backpacking, then by all means, be my guest, but the Cards are still 4 and 23.
Duke, on the other hand, at least has a winning record, and a good one at that. They are sitting at 19 and eight and fifth in the ACC. Which I guess isn’t great, but it also isn’t horrible. Not only is this Duke team much better holistically than Louisville, but they also happen to have the better player, hands down. Kyle Filipowski is an elite-level center that, to his credit, has been playing like one. He’s been averaging 15.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game, leading the team in all categories. A prototypical pain beast if you will.
Duke is a better team than Louisville. Full stop. I’ll be putting my money on Duke to win the game and get $150 in bonus bets if you pick the winner with DraftKings.
