What a great game. These Big 12 matchups are always wild rides. Both of these teams are one spot from each other in the Big 12 rankings and only have three spots of separation in the national table. Needless to say, this game could go either way. However, I’m much higher on Kansas State than I am on Baylor.
Now Baylor is a solid ball club. They are ninth in the nation, and for a good reason. The Bears have been playing great all season. They have very recently lost to Kansas, another Big 12 opponent, however, and I don’t see Kansas State being their bounce-back win. Now while Baylor does have a great record and has some very good players, they don’t have anyone who stands out to me too much. I mean, forward Jalen Bridges is solid, leading the team in both rebounding and blocks. But besides him, no other player leads in multiple statistical categories on this team. I guess you could say the team chemistry and multitude of weapons helped this team win games, but it didn’t help them against Kansas, and it won’t help them now.
Kansas State, on the other hand, has some elite players. Keyontae Johnson is an absolute baller averaging 17.4 points and 7.4 rebounds, leading his team in both categories. To be honest, it seems like most teams don’t have an answer for him at the clip and ability that he scores with. And besides the absolute paint beast that Keyontae is, the Wildcats also have a distribution master in Markquis Nowell, who is averaging 7.5 points per game, leading the nation in that statistic. So not only will Keyontae destroy your favorite team in the paint, but Markquis knows how to get it to him no matter where on the court he is.
While both of these teams are solid, Kansas State, I believe, has the better players and thus will win the game. So bet on Kansas State and get $150 in bonus bets if you pick the winner with DraftKings.
