Finally, Champions League soccer is back, and it’s better than ever. While Liverpool has had a not-so-great start to the season so far, they have started to regain their form in recent matches. However, I do think this is Real Madrid’s game to lose. They are a much better team and the current Champions League winners. So expect them to come out swinging.
Liverpool is a good team that started off the season in poor form. However, in recent matches, they have begun to regain their footing. Most recently, they beat fifth in the table Newcastle United in a game that was over before it started. What was even better than the fact that Liverpool won was the way in which they won. Over both transfer windows this year, the Reds made attacking signings, and neither one to this point had panned out the way that they had hoped. Darwin Nunez looked like he was struggling to remember where the goal was at most places on the pitch, and Cody Gakpo just didn’t have the spark that he carried with him at PSV. However, both Cody and Darwin scored against Newcastle United, and not only were the two young attackers the scorers but Mo Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold were the ones with the assists. This means that, finally, this team has some chemistry.
However, Real Madrid is, simply put, a much better soccer team. They have lost incredibly few games so far this season, sitting second in La Liga only behind other soccer giants Barcelona. Now I could take up your and my valuable time by listing why at basically every position, Real Madrid outclasses Liverpool, but that’s unnecessary. I mean, just, their attack alone has so many options between Vinicius Junior, Federico Valverde, and of course, current Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema. You can see why this squad scores so many goals. Not only that, but they have some of the best defenders as well, with David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger locking down their back line. Not to mention they did just recently win the Club World Cup, which will give them plenty of momentum heading into the game.
Now I’m not saying that this game will be completely one-sided. Liverpool has found their form recently, but again, Real Madrid is a better team. So I would say make the safe bet and go with Liverpool & get $150 in bonus bets if you pick the winner with DraftKings.
