What a game this is going to be. The Boilermakers and the Hoosiers are going head-to-head. Two nationally ranked teams also both ranked in the top three for the Big Ten. This is a grudge match if I’ve ever seen one. As much as I love what the Hoosiers have been doing this year, I do think that Purdue has come out on top.
The Hoosiers are an amazing basketball team. I mean, they’ve already beaten Purdue this season, among other nationally-ranked teams. In all honesty, they’re my dark horse in the March Madness tourney, not to give anyone any bracketology tips. They have one of the few players that actually matches up well against Zach Edey, which is what makes them so dangerous. That player is Trayce Jackson-Davis. This 6’9”, 245-pound forward is a menace. Both offensively and defensively. He is averaging 20.5 points per game, 11.1 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game. I mean, there’s not really anyone else in the country like him. Besides, maybe that big guy on the Boilermakers.
Speaking of Zach Edey, he is insane at basketball and a big part of why this Purdue team is so good. They’re currently 5th in the country, 1st in the Big Ten, and are my favorites for the Tournament. I mean, when you have one of the best, if not the best, college basketball players, you’re gonna be a March Madness favorite. Let’s talk about him for a second. Zach Edey is ranked 7th in the country in points per game, 1st in the country in rebounds per game, and 10th in the country in blocks per game. I don’t really know if there are words to describe that level of dominance in NCAA basketball. Being top ten in that many statistical categories is ridiculous.
