What is there not to say about a Tennessee/Alabama NCAA Basketball matchup? These are two powerhouse teams headed into March madness, and this game has no chance of disappointing. Now Bama may be red hot this year at the top of the charts, but I truly believe they’re due for a loss. And the Volunteers are looking for a kickback statement game after a couple of disappointing losses. I have a strong feeling that Tennessee will win this game tomorrow.
Now it’s hard to really talk bad about Alabama; I’ll be the first to admit it. Brandon Miller, one of their starting forwards, is absolutely balling right now. He’s averaging 18.8 points per game and 8.2 rebounds per game. Those numbers come with a shooting percentage of 45.5% and a three-point shooting percentage of 42.7%. So yes, he’s a great scorer and an efficient scorer. That’s a tough combo. But I have to admit, no one else on this Crimson Tide team really impresses me. I mean, Brandon is one of two players scoring in double digits, and the highest assisting average on the team is 3.4 per game, which is nothing spectacular. It also doesn’t help Bama’s case that two of their three losses have actually come against ranked teams. I think they’re primed for a third loss tomorrow.
The Volunteers have been going through a rough patch for the past couple of games, but this is a golden opportunity for them to turn it around right before March Madness. I love a lot of what Tennessee does, but my favorite thing right now has to be their ball distribution. Specifically that of Zakai Zeigler. He’s been averaging 5.4 dimes per game and giving the Volunteers some work on the defensive end with 2 steals per game. He’s an unselfish defensive-minded guard, and that’s one of the most potent weapons you can have in basketball. I mean, look at the Celts, they have three of them, and they’re top of the East. I’m not making this up; it’s proven.
As much as Alabama has been great this season, I love the Volunteers going into this game. They’re ranked number ten this year, and they’re gonna wanna hold on to that heading into the tournament. Bet on Tenessee and get $150 in bonus bets if you pick the winner with DraftKings.
