What a play-in game we have on our hands here. Both teams vying for the chance to play TCU in March Madness. Two teams with 22 win going head-to-head. One team has wins against the likes of Arizona, a two-seed that’s already in the tourney. While the best competition the other has played is San Diego State. I would say give me the team who has played against much better competition all season with the same number of wins. Arizona State will come out on top and punch its ticket into March Madness.

Don’t get me wrong, Nevada has been a solid team all year. Going 22 and 10 will do that for ya. However, the wins and games, in general, have come against weaker competition. I’m not here to compare conferences and get blasted by college die-hards online but come on. What truly is the Mountain West compared to the Pac-12? The Pac-12 has two different two-seeds in March Madness this year, while the winner of the Mountain West is a five-seed. So I don’t wanna hear it. Now Nevada does have some solid players, namely Kenana Blackshear, who has been averaging 14.4 points per game, 4.6 assists per game, and 1.5 steals per game. He leads the team in both assists and steals while also having an almost 45% shooting percentage. I have to admit that’s pretty gross. But Arizona State is better.

First of all, Arizona State has played both UCLA and Arizona twice this season and still has the same number of wins as Nevada. Not to mention the fact that the talent on this Sun Devils team is much, much better. Arizona State has six players, all averaging nine or more points per game, while Nevada has only four players. The leading blocker on Nevada is averaging 1.0 blocks per game, while Warren Washington has 1.7. Speaking about Warren Washington, that kid is a legit paint beast. Not only is he averaging 1.7 blocks per game, but he also has a team-leading 6.9 boards per game as well. I mean, up and down this roster, the players are, simply put, better than Nevada’s.

Arizona State has not only been playing tougher competition, but they have a much better squad. Bet on Arizona State, and get up to $1,111 in Bonus Bets from BetFred!
