Iowa State versus Texas, two nationally ranked Big 12 teams going head to head. What a show we are in for as basketball fans, huh? While Texas has been a very good team this season, I won’t lie. It is the Big 12, and anything can happen. I’m a big fan of the wins I’ve seen out of Iowa State this year, so give me the Cyclones in this matchup.

Now the Longhorns have been a great ball club this year; I can’t lie about that. They’re 21 and 6 and first in the Big 12. However, these are the teams that become most primed for an upset. And while statistically, this would be an upset win for Iowa State; the Cyclones have absolutely been good enough this season to win this game. While most of the players on Texas don’t scare me, there is one player who I would like to take the time to highlight right now who definitely is a hooper. He goes by the name of Marcus Carr. Marcus is averaging 17.1 points per game, 4.0 assists per game, and 1.7 steals per game on 45.1% shooting. This puts him better than many players in the NBA on shooting percentage. But besides Marcus, individually, many of the matchups go the Cyclones’ way.

Iowa State has been no pushover this season, and after a tough battle against Kansas State, they are primed for an upset victory over Texas. They’ve already beaten the likes of Kansas this season, so you know they have the ability to win against solid teams, and I love a lot of the players on this roster. For instance, guard Tamin Lipsey has been an absolute dog for this team averaging 4.8 assists and 2.0 steals per game. He’s getting it done both as a playmaker and a defensive workhorse. I love that he’s been trying to earn and keep his place in that starting five since he first came in at the beginning of this season. And the Cyclones are full of players with that type of drive.

This will be a great game to watch, no matter what happens. Both of these teams are great, but Iowa State will see this gritty game out. Bet on Iowa State and get up to $1,1111 in bonus bets.
