The Cavaliers and 76ers, what a great Eastern Conference game. Don’t get me wrong, the Cavaliers will take the dub, but at least the game will be a fun one to watch. So far this season this series is tied at one win apiece, which means this third and final meeting will have everyone wanting to come out on top.
Now the 76ers have been a solid team this year. I can’t lie about that. Joel Embiid is making yet another case in yet another season as to why he should be considered for MVP. He’s averaging a 33-point double-double, with 1.6 blocks per game to go along with it. There isn’t a lot that teams can do to slow this man down. And to go on top of that, the 76ers front office went out and got him James Harden, one of the greatest scorers this game has ever seen. The two of them in the pick-and-roll game are so gross that many are comparing it to Shaq and Kobe. (A little premature if you ask me, but what do I know). Harden has been averaging a double-double himself this season with basically 22 points, and 10 assists per game. However, The Cavs are one of the few teams that have a legit man that can tussle with Joel down low. And if you can slow down the big man, James Harden does not still have what it takes to win your ball games.
The Cavaliers have one of the few elite big-man defenders. And no, I’m not using the word elite the same way that analysts do when talking about the one 40-piece that Malik Monk has every season. I truly mean it. Jarrett Allen is an absolute presence down low, and as long as he’s healthy, Cleveland has a good shot at slowing Joel down. I would also like to say that while Philly has three legit star players, I would submit that Cleveland has four. You cannot tell me that Jarrett, E-Mobes, Darius Garland, or Donovan Mitchell are not star players. Three of them have full-on All-Star appearances, while the last, Evan Mobley, is just too young and on a team with too many good players to have made it yet. The Cavaliers are an absolutely stacked team that matches up the best against Philly in probably the whole NBA.
The 76ers are a solid team, but Cleveland matches up well against them. Take Cleveland to win, and get up to $1,111 in Bonus Bets from BetFred!
