Super Bowl LVII has every possibility of being the best Super Bowl of all time. The Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs were the two best teams in the NFL, without a doubt, and they were also two of the most exciting teams to watch in recent NFL history. You’d think all of that would be the reason that this Super Bowl is going to be so unbelievably awesome, but in reality, it’s only half. Travis Kelce vs. Jason Kelce. Andy Reid vs. his former organization. These storylines are unbelievable, and it’s about time we thank the NFL scriptwriters for everything they’ve done for us this season. In all seriousness, though, February 12th is going to be a battle between two truly great teams. Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes were the two best quarterbacks in the NFL in 2022, so this game is going to be a shootout, especially with both teams having incredible defenses to complement the plethora of weapons available to both squads’ offenses. From a coaching perspective, Andy Reid is honed and locked in as a true veteran HC in the NFL, and Nick Sirriani has made a compelling case for Coach of the Year after a crazy turnaround for this young team. Let’s. Go.

Last week the Eagles whooped the 49ers after their previous week’s whooping of the Giants to get to 69-14 against opponents in the playoffs. The Eagles offense looked good against the best defense in the NFL, but it wasn’t operating at the same level we came to expect in the 2022 season. Their offensive line was fantastic, as it has been all year, and that will be the biggest challenge for Kansas City’s defense in the upcoming game, which is crazy when you think about the fact that the Birds had two 1,000+ yard receivers this year in A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith. Defensively, the Eagles have been awesome, and their QB pressure was as good as it ever has been against San Francisco. With that, though, there’s also the fact that they were facing strict hand-offs for pretty much the whole second half. The defense is still awesome, but they didn’t exactly face their biggest test of all time last game. They’ll be in many different circumstances against a QB that went for more than 5,000 yards combined, passing and rushing.

The Chiefs are in awesome shape for a team with many injuries currently decimating their locker room. Kadarius Toney, L’Jarius Sneed, Willie Gay, and Juju Smith-Schuster, and (most importantly) Patrick Mahomes are all dealing with injuries, and with two weeks between games to heal, they’ll be coming back healthy and ready to attack a great Eagles defense. Mahomes is the best quarterback outside the pocket in the NFL, and that escapability will be huge this week. The Birds haven’t faced a more dangerous guy this season, and it’s going to be a tough test for them. With Mahomes’ connection to Travis Kelce (they’ve got 13 TDs in the postseason together), it’s going to be a nightmare for the Eagles to contain Patty and Travis simultaneously. Kansas City’s D-Line made Joe Burrow’s life a living hell last week, and while the Eagles aren’t missing three starters on the O-LIne like Cincinnati, Jalen Hurts will be dealing with more pressure than in recent weeks, and likely won’t be able to run nearly as much as Philadelphia fans are used to. This game will be incredibly tight, but the Chiefs, fully healthy, will be just too much to handle for this Philadelphia team. Take the Chiefs with your no sweat bet!
