Caitlin Clark was the target of bullying during her debut season with the Indiana Fever. Although it (mostly) stemmed from a desire to stop the best scorer in the WNBA, which is a physical league to begin with, opponents often tried to take her out of the game (literally and figuratively) through brute force.
They will have to try even harder in 2025 because the reigning Rookie of the Year packed on a few extra pounds of muscle during the offseason!
Clark arrived to WNBA at 6-foot-0, 152 pounds. She was not as big as some of the other women, even at her own position, and quickly became something of a punching bag. Opposing defenses took every opportunity to bump up against her, throw an elbow, and/or take a blatant cheap shot.
In an effort to fight back, Clark hit the gym. The 23-year-old point guard put on about two additional pounds of muscle during her first few months in the WNBA. Indiana went on to win 20 games.
The Fever made a coaching change during the offseason with championship hopes. New head coach Stephanie White has a plan to win multiple WNBA titles with Indiana and Caitlin Clark, of course, will be the primary catalyst for success. Especially now that she is jacked.
Clark chose not to play overseas or with one of the other women’s basketball leagues like Unrivaled or Athlete’s Unlimited during the offseason. She decided to lift weights instead.
The body transformation is staggering. Look at the size of her arms back in May:

Now fast forward to Friday, when Clark pulled up to the Big Ten Tournament. Her upper body is noticeably stronger than it was 10 months ago.

Needless to say, hard work pays off. The greatest scorer in college basketball history got her bell rung during the early portion of her first season as a pro. She made sure that won’t happen again.
Caitlin Clark is much stronger in 2025 and the WNBA is notice. The guns are firing!
