Colin Kaepernick Has Reportedly Received ‘Zero’ Interest From Teams, Only Received ‘Fake’ Interest After The Death Of George Floyd

The NFL season is set to start up this week and Colin Kaepernick is still not on a roster.

Back in June during the height of the BLM protests, it seemed like there was real momentum that Kaepernick was going to get signed by a team.

During that time there were reports stating that at least two AFC teams were “interested” in signing the former 49ers quarterback.

There were two teams, both in the AFC, that were looking at him, that I know of, a couple months ago,” Silver said during an appearance on Inside Training Camp Live. “You also had a situation where the rules on tryouts were a potential impediment with all the COVID testing and the protocols and the days of delay. But that has now changed. It’s just a bizarre state of affairs.”

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, a source with knowledge of the situation told him that Kaepernick only received “fake” interest from teams following the death of George Floyd and there has been zero interest since.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, there was some “fake” interest expressed immediately after Floyd’s death, seemingly out of guilt. There has been zero interest expressed as to Kaepernick “in months.”

At one point along the way, NFL Media reported that teams had contacted “friends and associates” of Kaepernick, and that they would be contacting his agent when they “get to the point where they’re confident enough that they think they can work out a contract.” So either they never got to the point of confidence that they can work out a contract, or it was all just more bullshit.

It doesn’t seem like Kaepernick is ever going to get a shot at playing in the NFL again.
