The 2020 MLB season is over a week old now, and while there have been a few hiccups along the way, it feels good to be back. We’ve got another loaded slate of games to kick off the week, so, it’s time to pick some winners.
Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Yankees
The Yankees are proving to be the team that people predicted would go the World Series. They currently have the best winning percentage and highest winning streak in the league.
While the Yanks are hot, the Phillies have been stagnant as they will be playing their first game in over a week due to several staff members testing positive for COVID-19.
They don’t get to ease back as they will face Gerrit Cole, who has won both of his starts this season.
It’s going to take some time for Philadelphia to get back into the groove after so much time off, and facing Cole doesn’t help.
Best Bet: New York Yankees (-304)
Best Prop Bet: Yankees to score first (-129)
First Pitch: 7:05 P.M. EST
Cleveland Indians vs. Cincinnati Reds
Sonny Gray’s impressive second half from last year has carried over to the start this season. He’s 2-0 with a 0.71 ERA and has a streak of 35 consecutive starts without giving up more than six hits.
Cleveland’s pitching has been impressive by giving up the second-least runs this year, but their offense has struggled, scoring the fewest runs in the league so far this season.
This game has a possibility of a pitchers duel as the Indians will have Zach Plesanc on the mound. He did not give up a run and three hits in his first start this season.
Best Bet: Total Under 8.5 (-110)
Best Prop Bet: First five innings under 4.5 runs (-106)
First Pitch: 6:40 P.M. EST
