Here’s What Fans Have Texted About The Most During The NCAA Tourney And, Yep, People Still Hate Duke

by 3 years ago

After a bunch of crazy games, wild finishes and unbelievable upsets, the NCAA Tournament has finally found its Final Four, narrowing down the field from 68 over the past few weeks. And with all the madness has come reactions—lots of ’em, too—as us sports fans have texted friends about what our eyes just witnessed, but may not have believed.

Blend, an interactive mobile messaging app that analyzes how Millennials group text, compiled data from 200,000 users throughout the course of the tourney to figure out what people were talking about the most, figuring out four categories:

  • The top 5 emojis used during the tournament
  • The top 3 games mentioned during the tournament
  • The most talked about player and teams
  • The most popular basketball “bet” during the tournament

Here’s what the info showed—and, yep, it involves a LOT of Duke hatred because, well who doesn’t enjoy shitting all over the Blue Devils?

The Dukies ended up being the squad most associated with shit, trash and were the most talked about team—which, based off the info, doesn’t seem like it was a good thing for them.
