It’s time to take a look at Week 3. This week, we’re going to see some great matchups with teams that are looking strong to start the season. Some of the games we featured this week have teams that came into the season with high hopes and have not started off well, and one game that features two undefeated teams with their biggest tests this season. Here are the games to wager on in Week 3.
Record this season: 5-3
Steelers (-4) vs. Houston Texans
It’s been a rough start for the Texans; they’ve been burned badly on both sides of the ball. Some of it has to do with tough matchups against the Chiefs and Ravens, who are possibly the two front-runners to win it all this year, but their Week 3 matchup doesn’t get much easier.
The Steelers, with the return of Ben Roethlisberger, have looked good offensively the first two weeks, but the biggest credit goes to the defense who’s allowed the second-fewest amount of total yards and are second in takeaways with four.
I’m betting on the Steelers, I wonder how many Subway sandwiches the Watt brothers are betting each other?
Underdog Of The Week
Cincinnati Bengals (+4.5) vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Both of these teams are coming into this game 0-2, but both team’s outlook couldn’t be any more different.
The Eagles have looked completely lost over the first two games; tons of injuries on the offense and a defense that has given up 64 points in two games.
The Bengals have been competitive in both games; they’re coming off a 30-point performance against the Browns and played it close against the Chargers, both losses have been within one possession.
So far this season the Eagles are a league worse -14.8 in points covering the spread.
Las Vegas Raiders vs New England Patriots (Over 47.5)
Cam Newton has been able to take this Patriots offense and excel being just one yard shy of starting 2-0. The Raiders have come on strong with an offense that has scored the fourth-most points this year and have started 2-0.
The Patriots defense so far does not look the one that dominated every single category last year, while the Raiders defense has given up 30 points to a Carolina team that struggled against Tampa Bay last year and 24 to a Saints offense where people are saying Drew Brees looks old.
Los Angeles Rams vs Buffalo Bills (Under 46.5)
The Bills have looked dominant in their first two games this year, against the Jets and Dolphins, but they’ve shown they can be good on both sides of the ball.
The same can be said about the Rams, who are starting to look like the 2018 team that made it to the Super Bowl. Jared Goff and that offense are scoring and the defense is still strong, allowing the third-fewest amount of points this season.
This will be the best defense either team has faced this year, it’s going to be a test for both of these teams to see how the offenses can respond.
