North Carolina State ‘Breath Coach’ Goes Viral After Blowout Loss To Clemson

After beginning the season with ACC Championship and College Football Playoff aspirations, things have quickly gone off the rails for the NC State Wolfpack.

The Pack got drilled, 51-10, in its premier week two matchup with Tennessee and Coastal Carolina transfer quarterback Grayson McCall has been anything but brilliant.

On Saturday, NC State yet again got blown out. This time, Clemson took the Wolfpack to the woodshed with a 59-35 butt kicking. But things got even worse for Dave Doeren and company.

They also became the subject of scrutiny thanks to coach Dan Deluis.

“Who is Dan Deluis,” you may ask. Well, Deluis is North Carolina State’s “breath coach.”

“What in the world is a breath coach?”

We’re glad you asked.

According to Deluis’ personal website, “Dan’s private coaching tailors cutting-edge techniques to your unique goals, pushing the boundaries of what you believe possible in sport, business, and personal growth.”

Fans Troll NC State Wolfpack Over Ridiculous ‘Breath Coach’

Uhhh, sure. Whatever he did for the Wolfpack, it sure doesn’t seem to have worked.

Unsurprisingly, NC State got ruthlessly trolled online by fans who felt the concept was ridiculous.

“Highlighting the NC State “Breath” coach on a nationally televised game because they are getting beat by 30 is hilarious,” one fan wrote.

Don’t need a breath coach when you eat, sleep and breathe our lord and savior Jesus Christ,” another said alongside a picture of Clemson coach Dabo Swinney.

Doeren is widely regarded as one of the top coaches in the ACC. But his team appears to always come up short in big games, and the last two losses won’t do much to stop that narrative.

We’re all for teams looking for every edge they can possibly find. But maybe bringing in someone to teach you players how to control their breathing isn’t the way go?
