Can Today’s Action Possibly Top ‘The Best NCAA Tournament Day Ever’?

by 9 years ago

We Tweeted this last night, but thought it was worth repeating this morning: How crazy was the first day of the NCAA Tournament? Of more than 5 million brackets entered into ESPN's Tournament Challenge, just 56, or 0.00112%, are still perfect. None of them are in the Pick'Em pool; in fact, just two of 1,029 nailed 14 of 16 yesterday. That would be A. Okun and B. Lenihan. Congrats guys. Another 21 brackets hit 13 of 16.

We're expecting a bit of a letdown in today's action for two reasons: first, it can't possibly live up to yesterday's thrilling finishes; and second, the lower seeded teams were put on notice yesterday that they've got their work cut out for them in these early rounds. We think Georgetown, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, and Marquette's losses were big wakeup calls for the Friday top-seed cohort. Action gets underway today at 12:15 p.m. ET with Morgan State taking on West Virginia in the East regional. If you're at work all day, we highly encourage you to make good use of March Madness On Demand. We'll also be live-Tweeting all day, as will Mr. T, so follow along with us on Twitter.
