VIDEO: Duke’s Kyle Singler Hits Trick Shot From the TV Announcers’ Nest in Cameron Indoor Stadium
Yes, they cut together the shots that he made, but still pretty impressive. I have a new theory that Kingler is the next Steve Nash. They may play different positions and have different roles on the court, but Singler is another super-smart, super-talented (white) guy from the Northwest (Oregon vs. Vancouver), who has as many talents and interests off the court as on (cooking and painting, judging from that “All-Access” special, vs. Nash's soccer and filmmaking). They're also both hams for the camera and could probably use a haircut. Very happy Singler came back for his senior season.
While I have you, two additional quick thoughts: First, Duke easily has the best backcourt squad in the country (bench included). Nolan Smith, Kyrie Irving, Seth Curry, and Andre Dawkins are going to shoot lights out this year. They shot collectively 11 from 22 from behind the arc versus Princeton. Second, a really dominant big man like Purdue's JaJuan Johnson or Maryland's Jordan Williams could give this team trouble, especially if the Plumlee brothers get in foul trouble early. That's the one scenario, other than a big injury or an ice-cold shooting night, where Duke could be in danger of losing a game. Otherwise, good luck.
