Laphroaig wants you to write absurd whisky reviews

Laphroaig

We’ve all seen absurd whisky reviews that use words which in no way actually represent flavor. Now it’s finally your turn flex your palate, and the more ridiculous the better!

You don’t have to be a professional drinker to know how something tastes, but you’ll quickly find that verbalizing what’s in your head is tougher than you think. That’s where the fun starts.

Laphroaig is bravely reaching out to the internet to see what people think of their whisky. We all know how risky that can be, but it’s happening. They’re giving everyday drinkers the chance to share candid, real-life opinions of Laphroaig, both positive and negative, on a new micro-site.

Need a little inspiration? Here’s a real review from Whisky Advocate:

Colin Joliat

Amber with gold streaks. Its aroma and flavor is fresh, powerful, and medicinal, with notes of peat smoke, band-aids, tar, rich toffee, seaweed, and brine. Thick in body, with an almost molasses-like viscosity.

Or how about Wine Enthusiast:

Aromas of new shoe leather, iodine, smoked trout, flowers, intense grain, soft cheese, peat-reek and dried seaweed.

I have faith that most of you can top those. And while your insights might not be very helpful, they’ll certainly be entertaining. They might even be used by Laphroaig in future advertisements. There’s a hashtag, because of course there is, to help you get noticed. #OpinionsWelcome

Go do you best.
