Vegan beer fests are a real thing

Nearly 75% of beers are vegan friendly, but that doesn’t mean vegans don’t want exclusive beer fests. It takes the guesswork out of what’s “safe,” which is probably pretty helpful once you’ve sampled 20 or so beers. The place is also packed with vegan food, which you’re very unlikely to find at your typical sample-a-thon. Unless of course bacon-wrapped pretzels have suddenly become vegan. You don’t have to be a vegan to attend, but I wouldn’t recommend walking around with your high and mighty meat-eater attitude. Just let the herbivores do their thing in peace. You really don’t want to be lectured while you’re drunk about how you’re a horrible person.

LA Beer Fest is the only one I could track down, but for all you Guyism readers on the West Coast, this one’s for you. Tickets are $40 early or $50 at the door. There are more than 30 food vendors and more than 40 breweries, so you should be able to get your money’s worth. And if you’re curious which beers are vegan friendly, Barnivore has a pretty extensive list.
