Vietnam War Vets Tell The Story Of The Greatest Beer Run Of All Time (Video)

Wow. This is one of the most epic stories I’ve ever heard. This is everything that BroBible stands for and more.

This is the story of John “Chickie” Donohue, a merchant marine from New York City who snuck into the war zone in Vietnam in the ’60s to deliver beer to his three enlisted buddies from back home. He and his buddies are true New York City ball-busters, thick accents and all. By bullshitting various people around the military, he managed to make it into a combat zone to surprise his neighborhood friends with warm beer.

Someone in the marketing department at Pabst Blue Ribbon caught wind of it and made a 12-minute documentary about “the world’s greatest beer run.” Watch it above.

It’s the type of tale that Bro legends are made of. Stories like this are exactly why our tagline here at BroBible is “Every Bro Has A Story.” This is the type of stuff we live for Bros to know about.

John “Chickie” Donohue and all his friends are now officially inducted into the Bro Hall of Fame. Pour one out for these all-American badasses.

God bless America, God bless our troops, and God bless a hard-earned beer.

441. Rich Chambers - It's Never Too Late to Follow Your Dreams
Rich Chambers sits at a musical crossroads of sorts. There are big Rock influences in his music, which range from equal parts retro to modern rock. There is a definitive Country and Americana element to what he does. There are also distinct glimpses of the Blues and Punk music. Big Band and crooners such as Dean Martin also can sneak in there as well as little bits of Jazz and Folk music. With all of these elements at play, many reviewers and music writers have a hard time categorizing or placing him, but he always tells them that he is simply Rock and Roll. That term Rock and Roll doesn't get used that much anymore, but Chambers believes that true Rock and Roll. Roll is derived from out of all the elements of music just listed. Throw in Chambers' unassuming, likeable, and relatable personality and you have an artist who is also bringing authenticity and sincerity back into pop music alongside some downright infectious Rock N' Roll melodies and rhythms. With his latest release of the Beatles cover, "I Saw Her Standing There," Chambers is redefining, or reimagining, if you will, Rock N' Roll for the 2020s. https://www.youtube.com/c/RichChambers https://richchambers.com/ https://www.facebook.com/richchambersrocknroll https://www.instagram.com/richchambersrocknroll https://twitter.com/RichChambers5 Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/dr-ds-social-network/donations Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
