For past few years, Thon Maker has been called the second coming of Kevin Durant but it seems like the Sudanese born center won’t get picked in the first round of tonight;s NBA draft because many teams are worried that he’s not being truthful about his age.
Several teams have entirely ruled Thon Maker out of the first round due to his age. Multiple sources believe Maker to be 21-23, not 19.

Feel bad for Thon Maker if this age thing is true. I know teams have unsuccessfully tried to get birth certificate but who really knows?

It isn’t uncommon for foreign players to lie about their age but I’m kind of hoping Maker is being truthful and that someone steals him late in the first round because he has the potential to be special.
