Recalling the most dramatic moments of the season and giving spicy updates. From which couples stayed intact to the broken friendships and promises, the reunion did have some heated comebacks.
Last month, Peacock’s popular reality dating show’s seventh season came to an end, and Amaya and Bryan were announced as the winning couple. The other couples who remained till the end were Iris and Pepe, Olandria and Nic, and Huda and Chris.
Nearly every Islander got back together on Monday to discuss the tempestuous and romantic summer. Andy Cohen and Love Island USA host, along with Vanderpump Rules alum Ariana Madix, hosted the reunion. The show also included updates on the couples’ current relationship status, previously unreleased video from contentious dumpings and challenges, and more.
5 Shocking Moments from Love Island Season 7 Reunion
We decided to give a quick recap, so here are the 5 most shocking moments of the reunion;
5. Huda Can’t Speak About Her Relationship Due to Legal Reasons
Huda Mustafa frequently stated that she was not allowed to discuss her present relationship status for legal reasons when questioned about it. A question sparked by images of her with Too Hot to Handle alum Louis Russell. When asked, Mustafa stated that Netflix was the source of the legal justifications, but he would not elaborate.
When the reunion was being filmed, Netflix was releasing Season 3 of Perfect Match in which Russell starred and dated other women. Sandy Gallagher criticized Russell for spoiling the show’s conclusion for viewers.
4. Season 7 Couples’ Current Relationship Status
Some Islanders who dated in the villa were still together as of the pre-recorded reunion on August 12, while others had broken up since leaving the villa. Runner-ups Olandria and Nic, Iris and Pepe, and winners Amaya and Bryan all joyfully revealed that they are still together. Chris stated during the reunion that he and Huda would never be friends outside of the villa, even if they had broken up during the last episodes of Love Island USA.
Bryan swiftly silenced followers who questioned him about his alleged cheating, claiming, “They’re trying to just throw any hate my way, and with the cheating video, the hosting I got paid to be there. I used to bartend back in the day. I had a lapse of judgment, and we’ve [he and Amaya] talked about it.”
3. Bryan accuses Zak of being on the show for money
Bryan Arenales, the winner, stuck by his earlier assertion that Zak Srakaew was only there for the money. According to Arenales, Srakaew spoke with the lads about how to play the game and advised them to “go off your feelings.” Amaya Espinal also mentioned that Srakaew’s timing of the conversations felt “performative.”
2. Nic absolutely against the idea of speaking with Cierra
Since Nic spent the majority of his time in the villa with Cierra before she left the program when her racist writings reappeared online, a fan questioned him during the episode if he had spoken to her since leaving the villa. Nic and Olandria made the decision to get to know one another better after she left.
“I don’t plan on it either,” he clarified, adding that he hasn’t spoken to Cierra. After processing everything that came out during the first week, Nic went on, “I wanted to talk to her after I left the villa, and then she started creating these videos. Through those films, it seems to me that she was more interested in garnering publicity than in fixing anything, if anything needed to be fixed.
1. Who was screaming during Olandria’s confessional exposed
Some fans claimed to have heard a voice yelling in the background in one of Olandria’s confessional videos during Cierra’s season-ending exit. During the reunion, Madix dismissed the claim that Cierra was yelling because she had been told she was being sent home, which led some viewers to speculate.
“Viewers thought that they could hear Cierra screaming in the background while Olandria was in the confessional, but that wasn’t quite it,” Madix said. It was later revealed that the people shouting in the background were Huda and Iris. They were loudly singing “Who Says” by Selena Gomez.
