Newly-released 911 call audio reveals missing UFO-linked Air Force General William Neil McCasland may have “planned not to be found.” McCasland has been missing since Friday, Feb. 27, when he was last seen going out for a trail run near his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Investigators have still not stated whether foul play was involved in General McCasland’s disappearance. They have revealed, however, that he left his wearable technology, prescription glasses, and phone at home before heading out for his trail run.

Authorities have also stated that McCasland owned a leather-holstered .38 caliber handgun that cannot be accounted for. Additionally, they reportedly found a U.S. Air Force sweatshirt within a mile of his home, though it has yet to be confirmed that it belongs to him.

911 call made by the missing General’s wife adds more suspicion to the case

In the 911 call audio that has now come to light, McCasland’s wife, Susan McCasland Wilkerson, reported her husband missing. She also indicated during the call that she believed he didn’t plan to be found.

“My name is Susan Wilkerson. My husband is missing,” she told the 911 dispatcher. “And it’s been about three hours, and I have some indication that he must have planned not to be found.

“He’s left his phone. He changed his clothes into I don’t know what. I think he’s on foot. All of our cars and bicycles are in the garage. I left for a doctor’s appointment at about 11:10. And he was here at that time at the house, and I got back from that at noon, and he was gone.

“He turned it off and left it behind, which seems kind of deliberate because he’s always got his phone. He has a smartwatch. I don’t know if that’s with him or not.”

When the 911 dispatcher asked if the General had ever done anything like this before, his wife replied that he’d never done anything “remotely like it.”

General McCasland allegedly had ties to top secret UFO research

McCasland commanded the Air Force Research Laboratory and Phillips Research Site at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico. He was previously in charge of research at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, where the military’s notorious Project Blue Book concentrated on UFO investigations. According to documents from the 2016 WikiLeaks release, he served as a crucial advisor on a number of UFO-related projects. As a result, his disappearance was deemed a “severe national security crisis” by at least one expert.

A little over a week after he vanished, the General’s wife attempted to clear up what she called “misinformation” around her husband’s disappearance. She attempted to dispel any rumors that her husband had ties to top secret UFO research.

General McCasland is just the latest American scientist and researcher to go missing

Several prominent American scientists have disappeared or died mysteriously since July 2024. One was a prominent researcher at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Another worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), one of America’s critical nuclear research facilities.

On May 4, 2025, Anthony Chavez, a former worker at Los Alamos National Laboratory, disappeared without a trace. Two months later, Melissa Casias, believed to have security clearance for sensitive data at Los Alamos National Laboratory, also disappeared without a trace under almost identical circumstances.

Monica Reza, JPL’s Director of the Materials Processing Group, disappeared just four days before Casias. She reportedly worked on developing a special metal for rockets as part of a U.S. government project overseen by General McCasland. McCasland, who was last seen on February 27, 2026, disappeared in nearly the same manner as Chavez and Casias.

So far, the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) in New Mexico, New Mexico Search and Rescue, Kirtland Air Force Base, and the FBI are all assisting with the investigation into the disappearance of General McCasland. Despite all those resources and manpower, nothing has been found to indicate how or why he mysteriously disappeared.
