Aaron Rodgers doesn’t plan on being one-and-done with the New York Jets.

Speaking to the media earlier this week ahead of the Jets’ participation in the Hall of Fame Game over the weekend, Rodgers detailed how long he plans on being with the organization, saying it’s going to b a “few-years partnership.”

“This is going to be a few-years partnership,” Rodgers said of his decision to restructure his contract on Tuesday, according to ESPN.

“[The deal is] a win-win-win for everybody. A win for me — I get paid a ton of money. A win for the team — we get a low cap number and deferred some cash. A win for other guys that we can bring in and sign. I have no complaints. I’m not missing it at all.”

Everything Rodgers has done thus far certainly makes it seem as though he’s genuine about being with the New York Jets beyond this season, with his forfeiting of $35 million just being the latest and most serious sign.

Despite the fact that Gang Green hasn’t qualified for the NFL playoffs since the 2010 season, the acquisition of the four-time MVP quarterback has them in the thick of this year’s Super Bowl race, at least as far as the bookies are concerned.

With a little over a month to go until the NFL season officially kicks off  — with September 7 with a Thursday Night Football matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions — the Jets currently have the seventh-best odds to win Super Bowl LVIII, trailing only the Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals, and Dallas Cowboys.

The Jets will kick off their 2023 campaign with a Monday Night Football matchup against Josh Allen and the rest of the Buffalo Bills on Monday, September 11.
