A truly wild scene unfolded in Mobile, Alabama yesterday after a man led multiple officers on a police chase while driving his track loader, a construction vehicle. At one point in the police chase, the Alabama man who was later taken into custody turned a track loader into the police and attempted to use the bucket to flip over police cars.
On the other side of the I-10 highway cars were driving by and dumbfounded by the scene unfolding. Upwards of 10 Mobile, Alabama police vehicles were involved in the chase after the track loader was reported stolen.
The driver of the stolen track loader did actually make contact with one of the police vehicles at one point in the car chase and is believed to have caused significant damage to the car, according to local news outlet Fox 10. Much of the car chase was caught on camera and it has since been compiled into one video… A veritable ‘highlight reel’ from the local news, showing the Alabama police chase unfold:
One of the drivers stuck in traffic captured this footage as the track loader caused total chaos on I-10:
The driver of the stolen track loader was taken into custody some time after noon. Mobile police reported gunfire just after 12pm and the driver was then taken to a local hospital for injuries sustained from the gunfire.
This presumably occurred after he rammed the police vehicle with the construction equipment. Police did not release an update on the suspect’s condition following the gunfire.
