Alan Ritchson Got The Hosts Of ‘The View’ All Worked Up With Story About Being A Real-Life ‘Reacher’

Being in the shape that Alan Ritchson is in, it’s understandable that he sometimes forgets that he’s not *actually* a superhero and just plays one on TV.

For example, if a regular person like you or I were to come across a carjacking, we’d probably call the police and look the other way.

Ritchson, on the other hand, who stas as Jack Reacher on the hit Prime Video series Reacher, is the type of guy to actually get involved, as he recently explained on The View while promoting his new film Ordinary Angels.

“I was on a date with my wife. Let’s start there. It was dusk in Old Montreal. The cobblestone streets were romantic. The sun was setting. It was beautiful.” Ritchson explained, “My wife noticed some feet dangling out of a vehicle. She said, ‘I think that dude’s breaking into the car.’ And he ran off with a ton of bags and passed us up.”

Next thing Rithcson knows, he’s in pursuit of the criminal.

“We’re running side-by-side and we look at each other and go, ‘How does this end?’” Ritchson said. “I’m not sure how either of us get out of this situation. We’ve taken it pretty far.”

“He goes to put his hands on me. He’s like running but he’s got his fists up,” the star said. “I was like, ‘Don’t do this dude.’ He shoves me and so I gently … I don’t want to hurt him … like multiple spins into a building wall and he just sat down. That was it. That was really it. We got him.”

While Ritchson has previously told this story, telling it on The View prompted a relatively new response to the anecdote as co-host Sara Haines said that Ritchson “just got hotter!”

Ritchson, who most recently starred in Ordinary Angels (hitting theaters on February 23), spoke with BroBible ahead of the release of the film about co-starring with Oscar winner Hillary Swank, being taken seriously as an actor, his favorite Reacher book, breaking into Hollywood by playing Aquaman, Batman casting rumors, and more.
