The Brentwood Police Department have released the body camera footage of officers following up with Reacher star Alan Ritchson after he punched Tennessee man Ronnie Taylor in the face. The investigation found that Ritchson was acting in self-defense and was justified in his actions.

Back in March, video of Alan Ritchson punching Tennessee man Ronnie Taylor in the face went massively viral. While Taylor tried to get ahead of the curve by running to TMZ to paint Ritchson as the aggressor, the Jack Reacher actor released his own body cam footage that immediately exonerated him.

Ritchson’s footage — which he took while riding motorcycles through the neighborhood with his two sons — showed Taylor initiating the confrontation by jumping out into the road and in front of Ritchson’s motorcycle, forcing him to quickly brake, thus causing a flip over his handlebars.

Newly released body camera footage shows police questioning both Alan Ritchson and Ronnie Taylor, with the latter beginning to cry during the interview

The newly released case file includes video recorded from Ritchson’s phone during the incident as well as police body camera footage taken after officers arrived on scene. On the body cam footage, Taylor told officers he was outside cleaning his motorcycle and wanted to stop Ritchson because he believed the actor was speeding.

As he recounted the incident, he could also be seen beginning to blubber and cry, perhaps in an attempt to earn some sympathy from the officers and further paint himself as the victim.

“I wasn’t going to fight him, he’s a big dude,” Taylor said before admitting that he had been drinking that day: “Yeah, I had a drink while watching the soccer today.”

“After reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, authorities determined that no criminal charges will be pursued,” Brentford PD said in a statement on the case being closed. “Mr. Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defense. Although a potential reckless endangerment charge was considered, Mr. Ritchson declined to pursue charges.”

Taylor is lucky that Ritchson is A) a good guy, B) already loaded, and C) has benefitied from a public image boost as a result of his incident, or his public humiliation would likely be further continuing in the court of law.
