Alex Rodriguez Clowned On For Taking Girlfriend On Insanely Lame Date Night

Jennifer Lopez isn’t the only member of the former Lopez-Alex Rodriguez relationship to make headlines this month through their status with their significant other as A. Rod has managed to do the same, albeit on a much smaller scale.

While Jennifer Lopez has been making headlines all summer due to her long-gestating and now-official divorce, Alex Rodriguez has been going viral on social media in recent days for the incredibly lame date night he took his girlfriend Jaclyn Cordeiro, which included… sitting on a dock and watching a New York Yankees game on an iPad.

“Date night but it’s just us sitting on a dock watching the Yankees game on an iPad,” said a viral post on X, formerly Twitter, highlighting Cordeiro’s date night Instagram story.

Granted, to be fair to A-Rod, there was (hopefully) more to the date than sitting waterside and likely listening to him recite his memories of his glory days in the Yankees’ famed pinstripes. Still, the idea of someone as rich and well-connected as Alex Rodriguez firing up his iPad and launching the YES Network app for a late August game is an undeniably hilarious mental image that’s also so fittingly A-Rod.

Rodriguez has been dating Cordeiro, who is a fitness instructor with over 138,000 followers on Instagram, since October 2022.

Before he began dating Cordeiro in 2022, Rodriguez previously dated model Kathryne Padgett and famously was engaged to pop star and actress Jennifer Lopez until the pair split in 2021. Following Lopez’s recent divorce from Ben Affleck, Rodriguez took to Instagram to share a cryptic message, saying “You either go one way or the other, you might as well be the one deciding the direction.”

Earlier this month, Rodriguez returned to Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York to participate in the organization’s Old Timer’s Day, which paid tribute to the 2009 World Series-winning team, for the first time.
