Actress Amanda Seyfried has doubled down on a comment she made following the death of Charlie Kirk in which she called the conservative political internet personality “hateful.”

Following Charlie Kirk’s murder in September, Amanda Seyfried commented on an Instagram post that had shared one of Kirk’s takes on Martin Luther King Jr., in which he said “Ask yourself, why is exposing the flaws of MLK’s life and character — something he said we should judge others by — so controversial?”

Actress Amanda Seyfried doubled down on her comments about Charlie Kirk and said she won’t apologize for calling him “hateful”

Seyfried said she is “not f—— apologizing” for her what she said about Kirk on the post, in which she commented on an Instagram post that “He was hateful.”

“I mean, for f— sake, I commented on one thing. I said something that was based on actual reality and actual footage and actual quotes. What I said was pretty damn factual, and I’m free to have an opinion, of course,” Seyfried told Who What Wear in an interview.

Seyfried’s comments are particularly relevant given that her next starring role is alongside Sydney Sweeney, which the conservative media apparatus has latched onto as one of their champions following her controversial American Eagle ad campaign over the summer.

The pair are starring together in The Housemaid, which was directed by Bridesmaids filmmaker Paul Feig and will be hitting theaters on Christmas Day. Based on early box office tracking reports, the film is shaping up to be a much needed hit for Sweeney, as it’s expected to make around $15 million in its debut weekend (against a $25 million budget).

For comparison, her last three films — Eden, Americana, and Christy, all released this year — made less than $5 million combined. You can check out the official trailer for The Housemaid below.
