American Eagle is not backing down following the backlash for their latest ad campaign. Last week, Sydney Sweeney was featured in a viral campaign for American Eagle that focused on her “great jeans.”
“Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color. My jeans are blue,” says Sweeney in the ad.

Sweeney’s American Eagle ad faced backlash when people accused it of being propaganda for Nazis.

On Friday, American Eagle issued a response to the backlash, and it doesn’t appear that they’re backing down from critics.
“Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans..is and always about the jeans. Her jeans her story. We’ll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone.”
