Andrew Tate has found himself in legal trouble yet again after being arrested in Romania, and it appears streamer Adin Ross was inadvertently responsible for the police raid that led to him being detained.

It’s hard not to be somewhat captivated by the rise and fall of Andrew Tate, the self-described misogynist who played social media algorithms like a fiddle while using his patented brand of toxic masculinity to amass a sizeable following of disaffected men online.

Tate was eventually deplatformed by YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, and the other platforms he relied on to grow his brand before things took a pretty wild turn in 2022 when he (and his brother Tristan) were arrested in Romania on human trafficking charges.

The siblings spent a few months in prison before being placed on house arrest in Bucharest, and while those restrictions were eventually loosened, they’ve both been ordered to remain in Romania as the case continues to make its way through the country’s legal system.

However, there’s a chance Tate may be heading back to his native United Kingdom in the near future based on what unfolded on Monday night.

According to NBC News, Tate and his brother were arrested in connection with another case that’s being investigated by the British authorities who asked Romanian officials to detain them for an extradition hearing after coming across evidence that suggested Tate was planning on fleeing the country.

It didn’t take long for the world to learn the warrant for the suspected crime in the U.K. was issued after officials received an accidental tip courtesy of streamer Adin Ross, who was broadcasting last week when he revealed he’d gotten a message from Tate that read, “I’m going to be leaving Romania soon and never coming back. If you want to come over and do a week of long streams and content I think it will be big. It’s now or never.”

As Will Sommer of The Washington Post reports, the attorneys representing the women who’ve accused the Tates of crimes that unfolded between 2012 and 2015 contacted authorities in the United Kingdom after seeing that clip, which ultimately led to Andrew and Tristan being arrested in Romania.

On Tuesday, a judge confirmed the Tates will be eligible for extradition pending the result of their ongoing trial. It’s unclear if Adin is still invited to Romania for a week of long streaming and content.
