Andrew and his brother Tristan Tate have been allowed to leave Romania, but they are apparently not welcome in Florida. For the past two years, the Tate brothers have been under house arrest in Romania while awaiting trial on charges of human trafficking, sexual misconduct, and money laundering.

Two weeks ago, the Financial Times reported that the Trump administration had asked Romanian authorities several times about removing travel restrictions on the Tate brothers, who have dual US/UK citizenship.

On Thursday, the Romanian government finally obliged and removed all travel restrictions on the Tate brothers, allowing them to travel to the United States.

After arriving in South Florida, Andrew professed his innocence while speaking to the media.

“We live in a democratic society where it’s innocent until proven guilty, and I think my brother and I are largely misunderstood,” said Tate.

“There’s a lot of opinions about us, a lot of things that got around about us on the internet We’ve yet to be convicted of any crime in our lives ever.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was not happy with the arrival of the Tate brothers and is looking at legal options to force them to leave the state.

“Florida is not a place where you’re welcome with that type of conduct. Our Attorney General, James Uthmeier, is looking into what state hooks and jurisdictions we have to deal with this. I don’t know how it came to this. We were not involved. We were not notified. I found out through the media.”

Andrew and Tristan Tate’s attorney released a statement calling for DeSantis to step down as the governor of Florida.
