Former kickboxer-turned-influencer Andrew Tate, who is currently banned from leaving Romania while facing a litany of allegations, received more bad news today after a court in the UK ruled that police can seize millions from him.
On Wednesday, a British court the Devon and Cornwall Police force is free to seize approximately $3.3 million (2.6M pounds) in unpaid taxes after the court determined Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were in violation. A lawyer for the police force called the Tate brothers “serial” tax evaders and Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring ruled that financial transactions from the Tate brothers was a “straightforward cheat” to avoid paying taxes.
One of the transactions, according to ABC News, was a $12 million transfer “into an account in the name of J” which was deemed by Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring as a direct move to avoid paying necessary taxes. Tate holds dual citizenship in England and the United States but is currently being held in Romania where he is facing trafficking charges while also facing assault charges back in the UK. Both Andrew and his brother Tristan deny all of the charges.
His legal battles began in earnest back in 2022 when Tate was arrested in Romania along with his brother and two women and faced charges related to human trafficking and organized crime. He has been barred from leaving Romania for the vast majority of the time since the 2022 raid.
Prior to the 2022 raid, Andrew Tate was building a brand as a toxic masculinity influencer. His number of followers was growing rapidly across all of the major social networks until he was banned by most. Tate is back on X (formerly Twitter) now where he has over 10.4 million followers worldwide. He often shares reactions to his court proceedings, like this one below and this.

It was rumored that Tate was crying in court a week ago. There are articles and countless posts across X, Bluesky, and Threads about Andrew Tate crying in court. However, I’ve yet to see a video or photograph of him actually crying in court. I’ve only seen reactions from people hearing that he did cry in court a week ago. Until there’s proof, it seems silly for people to keep sharing new posts about Andrew Tate crying in court but I’ve seen new ones today while doing research for this article.
According to the lawyers who were working on behalf of the Devon and Cornwall Police force, the Tate brothers failed to pay any taxes on $26.6 million (21M pounds) in income between 2014 and 2022, income derived from War Room, Cobra Tate, Hustlers’ University, and elsewhere.
In response to the court’s ruling, Andrew Tate released a statement saying “this is not justice; it’s a coordinated attack on anyone who dares to challenge the system. This raises serious questions about the lengths authorities will go to silence dissent.”
The quote “nothing is certain except death and taxes” is attributed to Benjamin Franklin. That quote has been ingrained in my head for my entire life. It is a quote that will live in for centuries if not forever. As long as there are nations collecting taxes, that quote will be prescient.
