One thing to admire about movie stars, at least as far as I’m concerned, is their ability to deal with their fans, particularly the overzealous ones.

Whether it be an actor or a musician or an athlete or a politician, I’ve personally never understood the concept of losing my s— at the mere presence of another someone that I have no personal relationship with. To each their own, I guess.

I especially admire actors’ conduct at fan conventions, which, from where I’m sitting, can feel quite overwhelming given the amount fans present and the passion they have.

Just earlier this week, for example, we brought you the story of Academy Award nominee Florence Pugh getting hit in the face by something that was thrown from the crowd.

But while watching Pugh get unfortunately clocked was a tough watch, this video of Anya Tayl0r-Joy interacting with fans takes the cake when it comes to cringeworthiness, as it sees the Furiosa star try and fail (twice!) to take a selfie with a male fan’s Android.

Naturally, the video has prompted quite a response on the internet, as it’s racked up over 115,000 likes and 10 million views at the time of this writing.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, many of the comments were about how painful it was to watch and how the video is actually a marketing tool for Apple, as Taylor-Joy clearly had no idea how to work the less-intuitive Android.

“That man is crying his way to the Apple Store,” said one top reply with over 24,000 likes.

“This was heartbreaking to watch,” said another with over 21,000 likes.

Taylor-Joy was recently down in Brazil at CCXP to promote the release of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, which debuted its first trailer last week at the convention.

Hitting movie theaters in the United States on May 24, 2024, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga stars Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Nathan Jones, Angus Sampson, Quaden Bayle, and more.
