Perhaps in an effort to cash on on the buzz surrounding the release of Sonay and Marvel’s Venom movie (much of it negative buzz), Warner Bros. and DC Comics just dropped a new 5-minute extended video preview For Aquaman.

Released as a part of New York Comic Con, this new deep dive into the upcoming Aquaman film gives us our first in-depth look (okay, enough with the deep sea puns) at Atlantis, the big bad Black Manta, Queen Atlanna, and Orm, the current King of Atlantis.

Following the events of Justice League, Arthur Curry, the reluctant ruler of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, is caught in a battle between surface dwellers that threaten his oceans and his own people, who are ready to lash out and invade the surface.

There is also, *gasp*, an actual dose of humor in addition to the much-expected action scenes by director James Wan (Saw, The Conjuring, Furious 7).

Starring Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren and Nicole Kidman, Aquaman hits theaters on December 21st and will be rated PG-13.
