Disgraced actor Armie Hammer claims to be so broke that he cannot afford basic life necessities such as fuel for his car.

In a video posted to Instagram, the former up-and-coming Hollywood star said that he will be selling a pickup truck that he bought for himself in 2017 because he can no longer afford to put gas into it.

“I’ve been back in L.A. for a couple of weeks now,” Hammer said in a video on Instagram.

“This is my truck. I bought this for myself in 2017 as a Christmas gift for myself, because I’ve had pickup trucks for a long time, and I have loved this truck intensely and taken it camping and across country multiple times and on long road trips. … Since being back in L.A., I have put about $400 or $500 worth of gas in it, and I can’t afford it.”

Hammer was accused of sexual misconduct, cannibalistic fetishes, abuse and coercion, by multiple women, while also being accused of rape by a woman identified only as “Effie” in 2021. Despite the litany of allegations, however, Hammer was never formally charged with any crimes.

Earlier this summer, Hammer said in an interview with Bill Maher that despite being “canceled,” he’s “never been happier.”

In addition to appearing on Bill Maher’s podcast, Hammer also made appearances on Tom Arnold’s Painful Lessons podcast and Piers Morgan Uncensored.

Prior to the collapse of his career, Hammer was known for his roles in films such as The Social Network, The Lone Ranger, J. Edgar, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Nocturnal Animals, Call Me by Your Name, Crisis, and Death on the Nile (his final film role, which was released in 2022).
