It’s not every day a celebrity walks into your shop for fresh ink. For one Atlanta tattoo artist, it wasn’t just that a famous rapper showed up; it was the awkward moment that followed that stuck with him.
Atlanta Tattoo Artist Calls Out Celebrity Client’s Lie
TikTok user Trent (@votetrent), who’s a professional tattoo artist at Rise High Tattoo in Atlanta, shared a storytime video about the time he says he tattooed a high-profile rapper. He never dropped a name, but viewers in the comments are pretty sure they know who he’s talking about.
“One time, I was tattooing a very famous rapper,” Trent begins. “I’m not gonna say any names, but I’m in Atlanta, so if you’re thinking it’s somebody, that’s probably who it was.”
According to Trent, the rapper wanted his girlfriend’s name tattooed right along his collarbone. On darker skin, Trent explains, “Things have to be bolder and bigger for them to pop.” So he drew out a design large enough to be clear.
When the client looked in the mirror, though, he immediately pushed back. “’Man, that’s big as hell. Hell no, we ain’t doing that. Make that s— smaller,’” Trent recalls the rapper saying.
Trent says he erased the first draft and sketched a smaller version, which the rapper agreed to.
Then The Girlfriend Shows Up
After the tattoo was finished, the girlfriend joined them in the studio. Trent says the rapper proudly called her over and said, “‘Hey, baby, look what I got for you.’” The girlfriend, he says, reacted by melting over the gesture and thanking him.
Out of nowhere, the rapper, Trent says, threw the tattoo artist under the bus. “He continues to tell the most unnecessary lie I have ever heard to this day in my life,” Trent says.
According to him, the rapper looked at his girlfriend and said, “’Baby, I wanted it bigger, but that’s the way he drew it.’”

Viewers Think They Cracked The Code
Viewers flooded the comments, almost unanimously pointing to the same rapper. Trent didn’t confirm it outright, but he didn’t deny it either.
“Once you said what he said we knew,” one viewer said.
“Why would he do that in front of you?!” another questioned.
Tattoo Horror Stories
Look no further than TikTok for an endless well of tattoo horror stories. One woman previously went viral for ordering a temporary tattoo from Shein, only for it to be not as temporary as she had hoped. Another woman’s tattoo artist messed her piece up and then tried to play it off like they added their “own twist” to it. As it turns out, that tactic is employed by tattoo artists more often than you’d think.
Scary stuff.
