Unfortunately, due to the ongoing actors’ strike, movie fans are going to have to wait a little longer to see Austin Butler and Tom Hardy star together in Jeff Nichols’ The Bikeriders, as the film — which was originally scheduled to release on December 1 — has been delayed.

The Bikeriders isn’t the only one of Butler’s upcoming movies to be delayed as a result of the strike, as the highly-anticipated sequel to 2021’s Dune was delayed from November to March.

Nevertheless, Butler was recently featured in a recent Interview Magazine profile that saw him detail the type of actor that Hardy is and how he’s Marlon Brando-esque.

“One of the things I was thinking about earlier, when you were talking about that relaxation on set, was that Tom Hardy surprised me. I pictured him to be this grizzly bear, always serious. And really, he’s one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. He’d be joking around until action is called and then go into being the most intense guy I’d ever seen,” Butler told Josh Brolin for a recent feature in Interview Magazine.

“It reminds me of the stories I heard of [Marlon] Brando, talking to the camera operator until the moment action is called,” he said. “I learned a lot from Tom. It reminds me of you, where you can be in that relaxed place where you’re receptive to your environment, and then when the time comes, you can click into what the scene demands.”

At this time, while it is unclear exactly when The Bikeriders will be released, The Hollywood Reporter stated that the intention is to still release it in time to qualify for the upcoming Academy Awards.

In addition to The Bikeriders and Dune: Part Two, Butler will also soon be starring in the AppleTV+ series Masters of the Air, which releases on January 26.

Alongside Butler and Hardy, The Bikeriders also stars Michael Shannon, Mike Faist, Norman Reedus, Boyd Holbrook, and more. You can check out the first official trailer for The Bikeriders, which hails from Take Shelter, Mud, Midnight Special, and Loving director Jeff Nichols, below.
