Elon Musk got duped by and posted a fake news story about a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie with The Bear Ayo Edebiri, and Edebiri has responded by calling him a fascist and an idiot. Edebiri has no attachment to any Pirates of the Caribbean projects.

Ayo Edebiri, one of the fastest rising Hollywood talents in recent years since breaking out on the hit FX series The Bear, responded to Elon Musk’s proliferation of the fake Pirates of the Caribbean news on Instagram, saying that it resulted in her getting death threats.

Edebiri also highlighted the widely-perceived Nazi salute that Musk did at a Trump rally earlier this year — something that Bill Burr recently ripped the billionaire for — and said that he’s an idiot for falling for the fake news.

“Just remembering when I got some of the most insane death threats and racial slurs of my life (idk if it’s the #1 moment, but for sure top 3) for a fake reboot of a movie I had never even heard of because of this man. LMAO. So not only is he double Sieg Heil-ing fascist, he’s an idiot but anyway,” Edebiri posted on Instagram.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Edebiri was writing a Barney movie — yes, *that* Barney — for A24 that she might also potentially star in.

As for the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, which has been dormant 2017 and arguably hasn’t produced a good movie since 2007’s At World’s End, recent rumors have indicated that Disney is on the verge of moving forward with a sixth Johnny Depp-starring film now that the 61-year-old Oscar nominee is working his way back into Hollywood.

With the box office totals of its five films from 2003 to 2017, Pirates of the Caribbean is the 16th highest-grossing movie franchise of all time with over $4.52 billion earned (the highest grossing being 2006’s Dead Man’s Chest, which made over $1 billion).
