East Texas Man Visits Bass Pro Shops. Then He Notices Something Strange About The Rooms Above Him

An East Texas man stopped at Bass Pro Shops on his trip to Memphis, Tenn., and spotted several rooms above the store. He discovered they’re bookable hotel rooms when he asked a worker.

In a video with over 78,000 views, TikToker Mikey (@ikeymmm) walks through the large hunting apparel store. He crosses a bridge with a manmade stream through the center of the store.

“You see all these little buildings up there?” he says. “Them are hotel rooms. They say they got 100-something rooms.”

Mikey says a worker showed him pictures of the rooms, and he couldn’t believe how “nice” they were.

Does Bass Pro Shops Really Have Hotel Rooms?

While Bass Pro Shops has locations all over the United States, only a couple of locations offer hotel rooms that overlook the storefronts. Currently, the hunting apparel retailer has rooms at the Memphis Pyramid location (called “The Big Cypress Lodge“) and in Hollister, Mo., at the Angler’s Lodge.

Some of its themed rooms go for over $600 a night, depending on the season. Although guests can book many of the rooms for around $250 to $300 per night.

Bass Pro Shop decorates its rooms with hunting-themed items like buck heads and wooden details, making it feel like guests are staying in a cabin in the woods.

On the r/Memphis subreddit, previous guests rave about their experience at the themed resort.

“It is goofy as hell but honestly the coolest store/resort/restaurant/bowlingalley/hotel/bar pyramid I’ve ever been to,” one writes.

Another shares, “My friend from out of town decided to have his bachelor party here. He specifically wanted to rent out the Governor’s Suite. We did. I can tell you the value for money for that particular suite was pretty amazing.”

Would Viewers Stay There?

In the comments, some viewers share their own experiences at the Memphis Bass Pro Shops hotel.

“I stayed there one night just to do it. It was awesome. Little creepy at night looking out and no one is there shopping,” one writes. “The burger place on sight wahlburgers was ok but not the best. Best part was the deep tub with jets!!”

“Very nice and expensive, food and drink at the top and by the bowling alley are great,” a second said.

Others said the TikToker’s video piqued their interest in staying at the hotel in the future.

“Never knew cool,” a commenter remarked.

Another joked, “When i get rich, this will be my living room.”

“Probably the only place I would stay at in Memphis,” a third said.

One viewer even has a genius idea: “Perfect place to step up shop if there was an apocalyptic event. Baracade the doors and just fish the ponds tell the power goes out,” they write.
